The final project meeting as well as the DiFens Final conference took place between 14th and 15th of February in the premises University of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus.

During the final work meeting the partners analyzed the project implementation and discussed the effects of the intellectual outputs – DiFens Platform and e-Manual. Moreover, the partner representatives discussed management issues and financial topics related to the financial reporting and the budget plan. The partners also agreed on the sustainability strategy beyond the project lifetime.

At the meeting Law and Internet Foundation (LIF) was represented by Sofia Nenova, Head of Human Rights Department, and Radoslava Makshutova, Legal Project Expert of LIF. Ms. Nenova presented the quality assurance strategy that was adopted during the project implementation and the achieved both quantitative and qualitative indicators.

The Final project meeting was conducted back-to-back with the Final Conference.

The final conference event saw the active participation of around 70 participants in total, both local and international ones. Firstly, the partner representatives highlighted the aims and the results of the DiFens intellectual outputs. Then, number of presentations with focus on the digital security topic, the business digitalization, as well as on successful stories of digital entrepreneurs, were delivered by various organisations – UCY, MCC, IDEA - Bank of Cyprus, startups, consulting company, young entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, Radoslava Makshutova drawn the participant’s attention to the data protection aspects when setting up the company’s website and provided some practical guidelines on how to comply with the applicable EU data protection rules.

The DiFens project is implemented under the framework of Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, within Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Action: Strategic partnership for youth. Law and Internet Foundation is in partnership with 4 other partners from 4 different countries – Cyprus, Slovenia, Poland and Greece.
