It was founded in 1970 by a group of Greek physicians, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center of Athens „HYGEIA” S.A. was the first private hospital to operate in Greece and is one of the largest private hospital units in the country. It is also the first and only hospital in Greece to have been accredited by Joint Commission International, the leading accreditation worldwide for Quality and Safety Standards in Healthcare Services.
