On 26 June 2026, the Law and Internet Foundation participated in the first 2026 meeting of the Permanent Expert Working Group of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
The meeting focused on key developments and challenges in the fight against human trafficking. Discussions covered current trafficking trends, the identification and support of third-country nationals who are victims of trafficking, and the legal and practical barriers they face in accessing protection, services, and legal status.
Participants also reviewed the existing legislative framework and exchanged views on possible legal and policy reforms to strengthen the protection of victims and improve Bulgaria's response to trafficking in human beings.
The Law and Internet Foundation is committed to contributing its expertise to policy discussions and collaborative efforts aimed at improving the legal and institutional response to human trafficking and safeguarding the rights of victims.
