This November, CITYCoP organizes its Mid-term Conference: an opportunity to learn and discuss about the community policing application that is being developed by the project.

During this two day conference, the aims of the CITYCoP project will be presented and explored: the development of a community policing application for citizens and law enforcement of four European cities. Experts from various backgrounds will participate in the discussion and share their expertise in fields that include application development, municipality management, law enforcement in cities, building trust in community policing, citizen empowerment studies and a study on feelings of safety and security.

The discussion will demonstrate the current state of the work of the project, especially presenting its findings in the areas of:

  • Community policing
    • The sociology behind the concept
    • Analysis of present policies in the filed
    • Citizens & Law Enforcement needs and expectations
  • Application development:
    • Functionality, success and failure in the market to date
    • Current feedback from citizen focus groups and law enforcement contributing partners
  • Legal and ethical implications
    • Privacy concerns and data protection
    • Application compliance with national and EU regulations
The conference will take place on 14 and 15 November in Rome – Sala Marconi, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, 00185 Rome. A full programme will be available in the coming weeks.
