On 15 and 16 May 2017, a dedicated group of experts within the CARISMAND project gathered in Vienna to implement the project results and knowledge gained up to this point into the development of the Toolkit and Cultural Map.

The workshop consisted of a series of brainstorming sessions and was joined by 15 team members, who contributed for the advance of the Toolkit development by sharing most recent research results, observations, and recommendations.

The CARISMAND Toolkit and Cultural Map are valuable resources that are being developed throughout the project life time and will be made available by the end of the project period.

CARISMAND aims to identify the cultural factors of influence and the existing gaps and opportunities in the current policies and procedures in disaster management. The project also has the objective to develop a set of measures designed in accordance with the cultural factors of influence and thus support stakeholders’ efforts in disaster management.
