More than 100 experts have participated in the CITYCoP forum – Smart Solutions for Citizen Safety, which took place on the 14th and 15th November 2016 in Rome, Italy. The event was part of the implementation of the CITYCoP project and provided a valuable opportunity to learn and discuss about the community policing smart application that is being developed by the project.

During this two-day conference, the CITYCoP mission was presented and explored: the development of a community policing smart application aimed at connecting citizens with law enforcement agencies. Experts from various backgrounds participated in the discussions and shared their expertise in smart application development, municipality management, law enforcement agencies urban presence, building trust in community policing. Additionally, citizen empowerment studies were presented, examining the societal perception of safety and security.

Law and Internet Foundation as a part of the CITYCoP project consortium is responsible for WP2 – Functionality, Success and Failure in the Market to Date and WP14 – Investigating the use of smart surveillance systems for the analysis of data gathered using the CITYCoP solution.
