Desislava Krusteva, Senior Legal Expert at Law and Internet Foundation and partner at Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm, led the two consecutive workshops organized by International Data Corporation (IDC), which is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology market.

The workshops, held on May 31st and June 7th in Sofia, aimed to provide an executive level overview of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its impact on business. Both events enjoyed strong participation by legal advisors, compliance managers and information security offices of some of the biggest banks, retail chains, telecom and postal services operators, manufacturers and IT companies operating in Bulgaria.

Desislava Krusteva, who is a certified international privacy professional for Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, was invited to present the legal aspects associated with the GDPR that enter into force on May 25th, 2018. As one of the most prominent privacy and data protection experts in Bulgaria, along with her significant experience and knowledge as IT lawyer, Ms. Krusteva is among the few able to provide clear and practical analysis of the GDPR and advise on the steps that businesses need to take to get ready for its forthcoming entry into force.
