On February 5th, 2025, the iCare2 project officially launched with an online kick-off meeting, bringing together partners to review the project’s goals, activities, and next steps, while also working on strategies to ensure its successful implementation.

Coordinated by Defence for Children International - Italy (DCI IT), iCare2 is a 24-month project aimed at supporting the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/1111 (Brussels II ter), which enhances legal procedures in matrimonial matters, parental responsibility, and international child abduction.

The project focuses on promoting child-sensitive family mediation and setting up pre-mediation info desks in partner countries to provide families with essential guidance. Key activities include research on compliance with the new regulation, capacity-building events for professionals, and the development of EU-wide guidelines to support mediation practices.

The iCare2 project has a consortium of 8 partners from 5 European countries – Italy, France, Bulgaria, Poland and Belgium, working together to ensure that families and children involved in cross-border disputes receive the support they need.

We look forward to working together on this important initiative and will be sharing updates on our progress as the project unfolds.
