On the 2nd and 3rd of April, 2009, in Dedeman Princess Hotel an international conference on cybercrime was held. The conference was organized by Law and Internet Foundation in cooperation with Technologies and Internet Association (Romania), Center for Information Technologies and Law of the University of Bristol (UK), and DFLabs (Italy).

The event is organized in connection with the project “Justice in the Digital Era: Strengthening Capacity of Magistrates in Bulgaria and Romania to Investigate, Prosecute and Produce Judgments in Cases Involving Cybercrime”, financed by the European Commission, Directorate General "Justice, Freedom and Security".

Issues touched upon were urgent questions such as the EU’s policies on the fight against cyber crime, need for new legislative measures, infringement of intellectual property rights on the Internet, pornography on the Internet, credit cards forgery, electronic evidence and criminal proceedings related to cyber crimes, information security demands, etc.

Participants in the event were magistrates from the country, officials from the investigation authorities, the public administration and non-governmental organization.
Lectors and moderators of the conference were prominent experts with experience of many years in the area of cyber crime from Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, and England. A special guest of the event was the member of the European Parliament Dushana Zdravkova.
