KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (KIOS CoE) at the University of Cyprus, established in 2008, has emerged as a leading research hub in collaboration with Imperial College London. As the largest research and innovation center in Cyprus focusing on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), KIOS specializes in the monitoring, control, management, and security of critical infrastructures, including electrical power systems, water distribution networks, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare systems, and emergency management. The Center is dedicated to conducting world-class interdisciplinary research that generates new knowledge and innovative tools, with an emphasis on practical applications. Through its extensive collaborations with national and international academic institutions, industry, and governmental organizations, KIOS ensures that its research outputs are both impactful and widely implemented, addressing real-world challenges in critical infrastructure management.
