We’re thrilled to announce that our Legal Expert, Maria Lachova-Toshkova, represented us at the 5th International Scientific Conference on Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, and Resilience (DIGILIENCE 2024), held on November 13-15 at Sofia Tech Park, Bulgaria!

During this high-profile event, Maria delivered an insightful presentation on "Data, Privacy, and Human-Centered AI in Defense and Security Systems: Legal and Ethical Considerations." Her work explores the crucial balance between technological advancements and ethical considerations, proposing frameworks to protect privacy and uphold human rights while maximizing the benefits of AI in defense and security applications.

The DIGILIENCE 2024 conference was organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), the European Software Institute, and the Professor Tsvetan Lazarov Defense Institute, under the patronage of Bulgaria’s Minister of Defense, Mr. Atanas Zapryanov. It brought together esteemed representatives from five Bulgarian universities, six research institutes, the European Defense Agency, and the European Cyber Security Agency, with contributions from researchers across Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Kuwait, Norway, USA, North Macedonia, Ukraine, and Finland.
