On 24th and 25th March 2025, partners from the iCare2 project gathered in Paris for a two-day study visit, focused on the project’s core mission of providing targeted support for families facing cross-border disputes, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding children’s best interests throughout the process. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into pre-mediation and international family mediation services, particularly in cases involving international child abductions. The event featured a roundtable discussion where experts from various national mediation service providers across Europe shared their experiences. In addition to the project partners from Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, and France, family mediation experts and mediators from Switzerland, Germany, and the UK participated, offering valuable insights and best practices. Discussions focused on strengthening international family mediation services, with a special emphasis on pre-mediation services in order to aid the creation of pre-mediation desks in Italy, France, Bulgaria, and Poland, as envisioned in the project. As the project progresses, partners will continue to collaborate closely to implement the insights gained and work towards establishing effective pre-mediation desks across the partner countries. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to develop and implement solutions to strengthen support systems for families facing international disputes. |
