UNIVERSITAT INTERNACIONAL DE CATALUNYA

The International University of Catalonia officially began its academic activities in October 1997. Organic Law 11/1983 on University Reform (LRU) together with Law 26/1984 of the Parliament of Catalonia offered the appropriate legal framework to promote a university with the capacity to grant official titles. The Catalan Family Foundation took responsibility for preparing the academic project.

This decree of approval recognized the creation of UIC Barcelona, which carried out its activity in five faculties and with the approval of ten degrees. Nearly four hundred students inaugurated the new buildings on the university campus of Barcelona and Sant Cugat del Vallès.

Since the 2008-2009 academic year, the University has gradually integrated studies into the new European Higher Education Area (EHEA), transforming bachelor's and diploma degrees into degrees. Thus, gradually the old studies will disappear.

In addition, UIC Barcelona offers newly created studies such as the Degree in Medicine (2008), the Degree in Humanities and Cultural Studies (2009), the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations (2009) and the Degree in Political Science and Public Management (2010). ), also managed by CESA.
