Law and Internet Foundation is proud to have our Chairperson Prof. Dimitrov represent the organization at the CSC Trust Without Borders Summit, where industry leaders, policymakers, and regulators will convene to discuss the future of digital trust, cross-border data flows, and the evolving challenges of cybersecurity. The summit provides an important platform for global leaders to exchange ideas on how to build a safer, more secure digital future, especially as technological innovation accelerates.

With a career spanning over three decades, Professor Dimitrov has served as a key advisor to various national governments and international institutions, shaping national IT laws and digital transformation strategies. His work has influenced legal frameworks across Europe and helped governments navigate the complex landscape of digital identity, electronic signatures, and cybersecurity.

One of Professor Dimitrov’s most notable achievements is his role in the development of remote electronic identification (eID) frameworks, having worked closely with the EU Commission to design guidelines that support anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. His expertise has been critical in helping to shape secure digital environments and improve trust in cross-border digital transactions.

We invite all interested parties to join the CSC Trust Without Borders Summit in Cape Town on April 3rd, 2025, for an opportunity to hear from one of the foremost experts in the field of digital trust and IT law.
