On 13th June 2018 in the National Palace of Culture will be held closing GDPR event - HOW CAN WE TURN GDPR “LEMONS” INTO LEMONADE?, focusing on the effects of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - the EU's biggest data protection reform.

The event will focus on the telecom and communal sectors - of the largest data administrators and will help to share both good practices and business challenges. During the discussion organized jointly with the Personal Data Protection Commission, the registered participants will have the opportunity to ask their questions personally to the national regulator, to the public authorities and to the leading experts on the topic, only few weeks after the entry into force of the GDPR.

As a top expert in the data protection field, atty. Desislava Krusteva, Senior Legal Expert at Law and Internet Foundation, is invited to participate in the conference. She will speak at the panel “Consent is the king”, discussing topics like: can the business be held responsible for the data they hold, how can personal data administrators benefit from the new personal data standard, how GDPR reform spark more transparency and transform user’s experience and if meeting the new EU standards will mean a real change in business processes especially for companies where lots of activities run core systems never designed to meet these needs.

The event is organized by Digital National Alliance as part of the calendar of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU.
