Portuguese Criminal Police is the Portuguese higher criminal police body, hierarchically organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Justice. As a criminal investigation police force, PJ has reserved competence, which cannot be assigned to other criminal police bodies, for the investigation of serious and organized crime in general.
