On the 23rd of June LIF organized an online event with a special guest lecturer – Prof. Georgi Mitov. The topic of the event was the European Legal Framework for the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime (PSACs) in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. More than 20 participants with a professional background in the field of criminal justice took part in the event.
The main concept of FAIR project is to reach PSACs and empower them with knowledge of their rights enshrined in the EU Directives by providing information in different languages and manners using innovative technological approach. This information is already available on the FAIR website and in the FAIR Mobile App developed within project activities.
The FAIR tool is already being provided to detainees, giving them the opportunity to get to know their rights in a timely manner. On the other hand, the application helps detention officers, allowing them to verify the actions required, concerning the detention of persons.
