The kick-off meeting of the EXTREMA project took place in Athens on February 9th. The Chairperson of Law and Internet Foundation, Prof. Dr. George Dimitrov, and the Executive Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr, Daniela Ilieva-Koleva, as well as representatives of the consortium, gathered to officially launch the project.

The EXTREMA project focuses on the development of a platform offering an emergency notification system for extreme temperatures. The mobile application includes features such as personalized heat stress risk, navigation information for the nearest cooling centers, real-time images/maps of extreme temperature hazard distribution, one day advance alert for expected extreme temperatures and others, all freely accessible. Law and Internet Foundation is responsible for the legal issues related to the project activities.

The EXTREMA project is funded by the Department for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection of the European Commission, Grant Agreement № 783180.
