The current deliverable 3.1 “Country report on the transposition of Victims’ Directive in Bulgaria” has been prepared under the framework of E-PROTECT by the research team of Law and Internet Foundation within work package 3 “Research and Data Collection”.

The current report provides a comprehensive overview of the current Bulgarian legal framework with regard to the rights of child victims of crime. Taking into account the particular national circumstances, the report maps and analyses relevant provisions from both systems – criminal and civil law – which are deemed as relevant and applicable. Furthermore, the report provides a comprehensive overview of victims’ rights in Bulgaria prior to the adoption of Directive 2012/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime.
