The first edition of the Balkan School on Internet Governance was held on 21-25 August 2017, Sarajevo, Olympic mountain Jahorina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event provided a supportive learning environment on the most pressing issues pertaining of Internet governance today. The participants were empowered to succeed in a long-term goal to engage in Internet Governance fora and processes, as national and regional experts on the subject matters, to contribute in higher levels Internet Governance discussion arenas in order to amplify national and regional voices and perspectives, fostering this way more inclusive, open, and transparent Internet Governance processes in the region and beyond. This is a result of their engagement with international and regional experts whose lectures facilitated the in-depth learning and further research and engagement activities.

As Law and Internet Foundation’s representative, Denitsa Kozhuharova joined the event as a lecturer. Her session was focused on jurisdictional issues related to cyberspace.
