The First TESTUDO Plenary Meeting took place this month, between 9th and 10th May 2024. The event was hosted by VICOMTECH (a leading applied research centre specialising in digital technologies), in the town of Donostia/San Sebastián (Spain), where the Consortium met for a thorough discussion on the progress being made thus far, as well as to consider further steps ahead.
Autonomous Swarm of Heterogeneous resources in infrastructure protection via threat prediction and prevention (TESTUDO) is a 36-month project aimed at providing innovative solutions for continuous monitoring, prevention, and prediction of hazardous events, thereby ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure. Envisaging the development of a platform including the latest technologies for fast and coordinated automated response, robust communication networks with highest coverage, cognition capabilities for detection of threats, increased situational awareness and decision making, as well as exploiting novel HMI and XR technologies, TESTUDO is a research and innovation project funded by the European Commission under Grant Agreement No. 101121258.
In addition to the presentations concerning the respective Work Packages and the oversight aspects related thereby, the two-day meeting has been primarily dedicated to in-depth discussion concerning the Pilot Use Cases.
The Law and Internet Foundation (LIF) had prepared an insightful workshop on Ethics. The presentation of the same is going to be finalised online due to time constraints during the physical meeting. LIF has also assumed responsibility for organising regular online workshops concerned with the legislative and ethical aspects applicable to the TESTUDO developments.
