In our previous blog post, we outlined how serious the issue of vaccine disinformation can be during the COVID-19 health crisis. In this publication we would like to look over the necessary measures that can be taken to combat disinformation and its detrimental effects on young people in Bulgaria and their attitude towards the vaccine against COVID-19.

In today’s world, where all kind of information is available for anyone, it is crucial to be aware of the resulting setbacks. The spread of disinformation is one of the biggest challenges we are exposed to, as fake news spread faster than real news.

In today's world, where social media evolves at an increasingly rapid pace, attention must be drawn to the conscious and especially unconscious influence that these social media exert and how the negative aspects of that influence can be avoided. The current article discusses in a two-folded way the impact of social media on the opinions and views of young people regarding politics, and points out the problems that disinformation causes, as well as possible methods to resolve them.

In view of the 2030 digital compass strategy for digitalization of Europe and the COVID-19 pandemic the need to enhance the EU's digital sovereignty becomes one of the main EU policies.
